First tenant in at The Point

Nottingham development The Point has secured its first tenant since it opened two years ago. Scotts, a dairy product distributor, will relocate to the building in a deal secured by Innes England.

Acting on behalf of Bournston Developments, Innes England has let a first floor office suite of just over 2,000 sq ft to Nottinghamshire-based Scotts.

Scotts has taken a five-year lease and is looking to take occupation by the end of the year, said property agent Innes England.

Scotts’ managing director, Jonathan Scott, said that the relocation to The Point marked “a significant milestone in the expansion plans of Scotts”. The company said it was planning to develop new distribution sites across the UK, and would centralise all of its administration and sales function into The Point.

Scott said: “Over the next six to 12 months we intend opening up a number of distribution sites throughout the UK with a site in Telford becoming operational next month. We are currently looking for sites in the north and south to assist us in reducing our environmental impact and to be able to offer a much enhanced level of service.

“With our relocation to The Point we are looking forward to bringing new jobs and opportunities to the area and feel that this is a perfect location to provide new recruits with comfortable, flexible office accommodation.”

Innes England said that it had also agreed a lease on a further two suites at The Point, totalling about 4,500 sq ft, more details about which would be released “imminently”.
