Nightfreight rockets with firework deliveries
National supply chain specialist Nightfreight said it will deliver more than 1,000 tonnes of fireworks over the Guy Fawkes season. The Willenhall-based freight company is currently managing deliveries for more than 65 firework contracts in the UK.
Nightfreight said it will operate “round-the-clock delivery service” to some of the country’s biggest firework displays. Its nationwide retailers include Pyrotex Fireworx, which has just been named British Musical Fireworks Champion 2010.
David Downes, who heads up Nightfreight’s special ‘dangerous goods’ division, said: “This seasonal celebration is an extremely busy and important time for us, and careful planning and constant monitoring is required at all times to ensure the successful handling of such special consignments.
“With good planning and teamwork we have managed to fit the increased number of fireworks consignments into the day-to-day schedule of our hub – without causing disruption.
“Our specialist team is responsible for delivering fireworks for a wide range of clients, including the top five UK importers. We also handle shipments from as far away as Indonesia, China, Italy, Germany and Spain – all have to be distributed UK wide on a tight schedule.”
