Revenue up at Norbert Dentressangle

Norbert Dentressangle, the transport business with its UK headquarters in Northampton, has posted revenue of €2.1bn for the first nine months to of 2010, up 4.1 per cent on its 2009 performance.

Revenue in the business' transport division was up 6.9 per cent, while Norbert said its freight forward business, launched this year, was also growing steadily.

In relation to its freight forward division, Norbert said its acquisition of US-based Schneider Logistics was on schedule and expected to complete shortly. The company said the deal would "significantly strengthen" this element of the business.

With more than 7,800 employees across 93 sites, 1,000 vehicles, 1,150 trailers and around 1.7 million sq m of warehousing, Norbert is one of the UK’s largest logistics and transport companies.

Norbert chief executive François Bertreau said: "We are encouraged by the performance of our transport business in the UK which shows improvement.

"Our UK logistics business continues to perform well, with a number of new contracts in both ambient and temperature controlled logistics."
