Mark Group in US expansion

Share | |

Mark Group, the Leicester-based installer of domestic energy-saving solutions, has opened new headquarters in North America. The move is expected to create about 300 jobs at the new site in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The expansion into America means that the company is now operating on three continents, after opening a base in Sydney, Australia last year.

Working out of Philadelphia, the energy-efficiency expert will deliver a national energy-saving programme, tailored to the US homeowner market.

Mark Group’s Leicester-based president of international operations, Chris Brazendale, said: “Mark Group is an established, successful and entrepreneurial installer of energy-saving solutions. We successfully launched in Australia last year and identified a further opportunity for growth in North America.

“The market for home insulation in the US is relatively young, compared to that of the UK, but Philadelphia is a city which is embracing ‘green’ technologies and has been extremely supportive of our investment in the region.”

Mark Group says its philosophy in the UK is to take a ‘whole house’ approach to energy-saving, with the bulk of its current business in cavity wall and loft insulation. In the US, a similar approach will be taken, but offering draught-proofing (known as air-sealing), wall and attic insulation, as well as renewable technology options.
