Carillion launches Dragons' Den opportunity

Share | |

Companies in Wolverhampton are being given the chance to ‘pitch’ themselves to support services and construction giant Carillion. The chosen entrepreneurs will assist with work on the £300m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

Interested businesses must register on the finditinwolverhampton.co.uk business opportunity website which was launched by Wolverhampton City Council in September.

Entrepreneurs will be given five-minute slots to impress Carillion at the first finditinwolverhampton breakfast networking event at Molineux Stadium next Thursday (28 October).

Lee Barker, senior buyer at Carillion, said: “We want more local businesses to join the supply chain for BSF and we want them to do so first by registering on finditinwolverhampton which gives them regular updates on business opportunities in the city.

“So far, 75 companies have registered an interest in the work for BSF. We’d like to meet more in person which is why we’re offering this pitching opportunity. It will be a lot friendlier than Dragons' Den but it will give Carillion the chance to see just what Wolverhampton companies have to offer.”
