HCA ploughs £560,000 into regen project
The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has invested £560,000 into the Market Place buildings in Kettering town centre. The cash injection is in addition to the £2.5m growth area funding already invested in the project.
Ten residential apartments and two new restaurant premises will be created in The Market Place through the investment.
The construction project will be completed in spring 2011, and the restaurants are expected to open in autumn 2011.
Kettering was recently revealed to be in the top ten regions in the country for business base growth. The town has achieved a 40 per cent growth in its business base over the last five years.
Sandy Ward, area manager at the Homes and Communities Agency, said: “It is important for us to support the borough council's aspirations, and this project does so by creating a quality new development and increasing local employment opportunities, while also acting as a catalyst to help start further regeneration projects in the town.
“This scheme will benefit local residents and businesses by providing high quality apartments and commercial premises to attract national restaurant outlets into Kettering.”
