Nottingham University appoints new Dean
Professor Martin Binks has been appointed dean of Nottingham University Business School. He works at the university as a professor of entrepreneurial development and has "pioneered" the university’s connections with small and medium sized businesses in the region.
Binks is also the director of the Institute for Enterprise and Innovation (UNIEI) at the university. He takes over from Professor Leigh Drake who became head of the school in 2007.
Professor Drake will take up his new position as dean of La Trobe University’s faculty of Law and Management at its main campus in Melbourne, Australia, in November.
Professor Binks said: “This business school has strong links across many subject areas throughout the university, as well as collaborations outside the university. There are great opportunities for research and multidisciplinarity. Opportunity recognition is key, and we know how to improve these skills.”
