Funeral director secures jobs with EFG loan
A Wass Funeral Directors in Sutton-in-Ashfield has secured ten jobs after obtaining finance from NatWest and the government-backed Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme (EFG).
Paul Brown, managing director, said he has been able to use the EFG to help him “look towards the future and think about expansion plans to develop the business further”.
He said: “When Mr Wass sadly passed away, I was determined to keep the A Wass name going in Sutton in Ashfield. I was determined to not only keep the name, but also maintain the reputation we have with our clients and in the community. The death of a loved one is very traumatic and people need support, guidance and a personal touch to ensure the funeral arrangements take place as professionally as possible.
"This is at the centre of everything A Wass Funeral Directors is all about. I was determined that this would still be the case and thanks to NatWest and the EFG I have been able to take over the business, continue the family tradition and think of the future.”
The government-backed EFG Scheme was founded to help smaller businesses secure the working capital or investment finance needed to help them through the difficult economic climate.
