Midlands leadership group launched

Share | |

More than 50 business leaders from across the Midlands attended a luncheon to launch youth charity Midlands Leadership Group. The group was initiated by The Prince’s Trust, and companies including PwC, Lloyds Bank, RBS, Bruntwood and Dunstall Estates have already signed up as founder members of the group.

The event was hosted by Lloyd Dorfman, chairman of both Travelex and The Prince’s Trust Development Board. He said: “The launch of the Midlands Leadership Group is an important opportunity for businesses in the region to rescue local young people from an unfulfilling future of benefit-dependency and under-achievement.

“All of the money raised by MLG will be earmarked to help the thousands of local young people who find that The Prince’s Trust is their last hope for a brighter future.

“By joining the MLG, companies will contribute to the economic well-being of the region, as well as receiving tangible benefits. They will enjoy an association with a highly respected charity, joint marketing opportunities and the opportunity to network with other business leaders at exclusive events. Membership can also form a key part of a company’s corporate social responsibility activity.”

The Prince’s Trust gives practical and financial support to young people across the country. More than three in four young people on the Trust’s schemes move into work, education or training.
