£1m refurb complete
A £1m refurbishment project has been completed at the Bridge Business Park in Thurmaston, Leicester. The restoration work includes a new fit-out of the front unit for tenant Leicester City Community Health Service.
The project was completed by owner and commercial property developer Raynsway Properties, based in Leicester, and refurbishment company Intex Projects.
Work on the 24, 818 sq ft premises includes the installation of new heating and ventilation, new LG7 light fittings, new ceilings and flooring, new toilets and an upgraded lift.
The front unit of the building was also fitted out with new partitions and air conditioning for the city’s Community Health Service, which employs 333 people at the development.
Tom Watkinson, managing director of Raynsway Properties, said: “Refurbishing this space at Bridge Business Park allows us to improve what are already popular units and gives an opportunity to really focus in on what tenants are looking for, which may not have existed in the original building. At the same time it throws up some real challenges especially with the Disability Discrimination Act and open plan requirements.
"A key advantage is that older buildings generally have additional car parking allowance not available with a new build. Such a requirement is often a vital to enticing new tenants.”
