Hilton to give Lincoln a boost

Share | |

The developer behind Lincoln’s Doubletree by Hilton hotel said he wanted to bring “an inspirational product to Lincoln”. Richard Farrar, co-director of Brayford Hotels, told Insider that the four-star hotel should be open “in the latter part of next year”.

Farrar said: “I think the hotel will give the city a real boost. It’s going to really lift the area, as it’s a completely unique and design-led building.”

He said that the hotel industry is “on the up”, and said that Brayford Hotels was looking at “a number of sites” as potential developments.

“We have brought the Hilton project to reality in a very difficult period,” he said. “Two years ago, people thought that the financial sky was going to fall in around them, but we have come through the worst of it.”

The hotel will create an estimated 70 jobs in the city. It will comprise 115 guest rooms as well as a conference room to seat 250 people. There will also be a rooftop bar and restaurant.
