Newark travel company collapses
A tour company based in Newark has entered administration. Agricultural Travel Bureau, which was set up more than 50 years ago, has appointed administrators from RSM Tenon to handle the closure.
The company, which traded as Barfield Travel & Tours and Barfield Business Travel, arranged agricultural holidays including renewable energy tours and trips to cattle and sheep conventions.
Keith Marshall and Sarah Burge of RSM Tenon were appointed joint administrators on 15 October.
Marshall, recovery director at RSM Tenon, said: “As an immediate priority, we will be contacting all customers whom we believe may be affected by the administration.”
Any customers who have booked through Barfied Travel, but have not yet travelled, should contact RSM Tenon’s Hull office on 01482 333777 to seek advice.
Marshall said: “Unfortunately, the travel agency has had to close. Parties interested in acquiring the Agricultural Tours or Barfield Travel Agency businesses should also contact RSM Tenon’s Hull office for further information.”
