Wolseley 'to sell' Bathstore chain

Share | |

Leamington Spa-based Wolseley is beginning its search for a buyer for its Bathstore retail chain, according to reports. The heating and plumbing company is said to be appointing advisers to sell off its 160-store chain.

The FTSE-100 Index company sells bathroom suites and hardware such as taps.

According to reports in the Sunday Express, the Bathstore division is “at odds” with the remainder of Wolseley's portfolio.

The company is said to want to concentrate on divisions such as its Plumb Centre, which caters mainly for trade customers.

Wolseley sold its Bristol-based building tools and equipment firm Brandon Hire earlier this year.
