Green companies prevail at IoD awards

Eco technology specialists from Northampton and Nottingham have been named as the East Midlands’ Director and Young Directors of the Year. The winners were announced at the Institute of Directors’ awards.

Kevin Meagher, the creator of Intamac Systems, was named as the region’s Director of the Year. The company specialises in home energy and security at its Northampton site.

The company employs 28 people and has an annual turnover of £2m.

EvoEnergy, the Nottingham-based solar panel installer, was also victorious. Managing director Kevin Hard and operations manager Aidan Bell were joint winners of the Young Director of the Year for the East Midlands.

The business achieved a turnover of £7m in 2009-2010, an increase of 600 per cent from the year before. The company is now aiming to turnover £25m in 2010-2011.

The winners will now go forward to the 2011 IoD UK Director of the Year awards.
