Council joins Mayday network
Nottingham City Council has been named as the 3,000th member of HRH The Prince of Wales’s Mayday Network. The organisation said it is looking for more “non-traditional” businesses to join its network.
The group was set up by Business in the Community on behalf of The Prince of Wales in 2007. It aims to help businesses of all sizes to implement sustainable practices.
The network recently published its annual report, which showed that membership grew to 3,000 companies over the past year, an increase of 105 per cent.
According to research from the organisation, the recent expansion has come largely from the small and micro business community.
Jackie Fuller, East Midlands deputy director of Business in the Community said: “The council is the ideal organisation to help us celebrate welcoming our 3,000th Network member.
"Founding Mayday businesses including Alliance Boots are headquartered in the region, and we have recently made firm plans to develop a comprehensive Mayday support programme in the region, so this a great way to kick that off.’’
