Envisage expands fleet with AST divisions
Automotive design group Envisage, headquartered in Coventry, has acquired Hednesford-based AST Resourcing and AST Recruitment. The company said the addition of the new businesses will enable it to expand into the fields of defence, rail and nuclear technology.
Envisage provides planning and production designs to the transport industry. The group currently comprises CH Recruitment, Automotive CAD Technology (ACT), Design FL and Visioneering.
The company is headed by executive chairman Bryan Campbell, who previously worked for Jaguar Land Rover for 40 years.
Campbell said: “This acquisition moves us a step closer to achieving our goal of providing turnkey solutions to the global transport industry.
“Traditionally, manufacturers will outsource different elements of the design work, such as bringing in extra staff, CAD work, prototype production and modelling, to different organisations.
“Our aim is to provide an all encompassing approach and we hope to continue our expansion and add even more companies to the group in the future.”
The deal to secure the two AST divisions was supported by Coventry-based legal firm Band Hatton.
