Hodgson to head up BTG Tax
Specialist tax firm BTG has appointed two new partners to its Birmingham office. The recruits include John Hodgson, who previously held the position of head of tax at RSM Bentley Jennison.
Hodgson, who joins BTG as managing partner, has 25 years’ experience in mitigating clients’ tax exposure with commercial tax planning.
He said: “Being able to provide comprehensive but confidential advice, independent of any in-house product mandates, audit constraints or tied legal and financial service reciprocities, opens up all manner of exciting opportunities to assist clients, both corporate and private, to mitigate commercially their tax exposures.”
Ray Abercromby, former corporate tax partner of the Manchester BTG Tax office, has also joined the Birmingham tax team. Abercromby is now national head of corporate tax at the firm, and specialises in transactional tax and corporate restructuring work.
National managing partner of BTG Tax, Andrew Shaw, said: “These appointments mark an exciting time for BTG Tax as we build our expertise, allowing us to further develop our reputation as the leading independent tax practice in Birmingham."
