Indi Bar creates 80 jobs
A new £3.5m bar in Wolverhampton will create 80 jobs, it has been announced. Indi Bar, on the corner of Lichfield Street and Princess Street, opens on 28 October.
The venue is sister to Birmingham's Indi Bar. By spring 2011, it hopes to become a five-storey venue including night club, members’ bar, lounge bar, restaurant and café bar, and private-hire areas.
The Bar Leisure Group, which owns the bar, has plans in place for 30 venues throughout the UK. Stafford has been identified as its next target.
Budh Sidhho, operations director for The Bar Leisure Group, said: “Wolverhampton is a thriving city and we’re confident that Indi Bar will be a popular place to meet, eat and drink.
“The business market is a very important one – Wolverhampton is a hub, and we’re keen to establish ourselves as the venue of choice for that market, be it a networking breakfast, a business lunch or a convenient spot to meet with clients."
"When Wolverhampton is completed, we plan to launch Indi Bar in Stafford. We’ll then begin to buy and develop new sites and acquire existing sites across the UK to turn Indi Bar into a flourishing success story."
