CP flies high with airport deal

Staffordshire-based CP Automated Lighting has secured a contract to work on the refurbishment of Birmingham International Airport’s Terminal 1 building.

The company supplies and commissions automated lighting control systems for private and public sector construction projects.

Through the deal with the airport, CP will design and commission an energy efficient, automated lighting control system to detect how much natural daylight is coming into the terminal building, and reduce the amount of artificial light used.

James Hart, director of CP, said: “We are obviously delighted to be awarded such a prestigious contract and this is yet another example of how flexible our systems are as they can be applied to almost any building and environment.

“The system will automate and control the amount of light used in all areas of the building which is in use 24 hours a day, 365 days per year and will thus help the airport reduce its energy consumption levels.”
