LaSer beaming at £1bn landmark

LaSer UK has now lent more than £1bn and will create 120 new jobs in the West Midlands this year.

The Solihull company, which operates credit and loyalty schemes such as store cards, gift cards and point of sale loans, employs 450 people and an additional 150 from a Belfast base.

The growth has been spurred by a number of new client wins including DSGi, which operates Dixons.co.uk, Currys and PC World.

It trades as Creation Consumer Finance, Creation Financial Services and Sygma Bank UK.

Stephen Hunt, chief executive at LaSer UK, said: "We forecasted that we would go through the £1bn milestone towards the end of 2010, but the outstanding summer of new business wins and product launches has enabled us to beat our own forecasts a full four months ahead of schedule.

"Most importantly our success will enable us to create 120 new jobs in the West Midlands this year and the momentum we have generated will see us develop our products and services even faster with the aim of doubling the size of our business once more."
