Northampton builders’ merchant Travis Perkins continues to post positive results, as it revealed in an interim statement this morning that group turnover for the nine months to the end of September was up 6 per cent on the comparable 2009 period.

The company said that it “continues to gain like-for-like market share in both our merchanting and retail divisions”.

For the first nine months of 2010, total turnover in the company’s merchanting division was up by 7.8 per cent, with like-for-like turnover per trading day up by 7.1 per cent.

The company said that its DIY division Wickes had produced an increase in total turnover for the 39 week trading period to 2 October of 2.1 per cent. Like-for-like turnover per trading day was down by 0.1 per cent, with core products down by 2.8 per cent. However, showroom sales for the period were up by 11.9 per cent.

The company said that trading results for the last three months were “in line with expectations”.
