Wolverhampton-based support service company Carillion has been awarded a £124m contract for the construction of two residential towers in Dubai.

The tower blocks, owned by Emaar Properties PJSC, form part of a 500-acre Downtown Dubai development.

The buildings are part of the 29 Boulevard residential project and will each be 45 storeys high with a three-level basement car park, ground floor, and a three-level podium.

This latest contract follows the company’s Dubai-based subsidiary Al Futtaim Carillion's successful completion of three major projects for Emaar Properties in Downtown Dubai. The site is anchored by Emaar's iconic project, Burj Khalifa, which is the world's tallest building.

Carillion chief executive, John McDonough, said: "We are delighted that Al Futtaim Carillion has been awarded a further contract for this prestigious development in Dubai. This reflects our high reputation for quality and delivery and the strength of our long-term relationship with Emaar."
