Barratt begins £146m developments
Housebuilder Barratt West Midlands has announced it will start work on seven new sites in the region over the next year. The developments are worth a combined total of £146m.
The company, which has its divisional base in Halesowen, will begin work on several sites comprising 1,183 new homes.
Graydon Worthing, sales director for Barratt West Midlands, said that the company “would not be making this significant commitment to the market in this area unless we were confident about its prospects in the medium-term”.
He said: “By building these developments we will be bringing new jobs to the West Midlands. We will also be creating well-designed, competitively-priced new homes which local people need.”
These new developments will provide 260 affordable houses. Work has already begun on two major mixed use regeneration projects in Shard End and at the Lyng in West Bromwich, working in partnership with Birmingham City Council and Sandwell MBC respectively.
Barratt’s new developments in the West Midlands include sites in Birmingham, West Bromwich, Bloxwich, Rugeley, Bilston, Burton-on-Trent and Stratford-upon-Avon.
