£1m grant secures Worksop unit
Technology company MBA Polymers has opened its plastics processing facility in Worksop, North Nottinghamshire, following a £1m Grant for Business Investment (GBI) from the East Midlands Development Agency (Emda).
The new facility will create 28 new jobs this year, and another 68 before the end of 2012.
US-based parent company, MBA Polymers entered into a joint venture with European Metal Recycling to create the new facility in Worksop.
MBA Polymers purchased a former glass production site at Sandy Lane in 2009 and will produce sustainable plastics for UK and European automotive and durable goods markets from the site. The company will process waste from cars upgraded by European Metal Recycling from its UK operations.
Piers Grumett, managing director at MBA Polymers UK, said: “We are delighted to be opening the plastic processing facility in Worksop, which should enable us to expand our European operations significantly. Emda was very helpful in securing this investment for the area.
"It was important to find the right location for this substantial investment and the site at Sandy Lane offered us a great opportunity.”
