Trent Barton awards £8m contract to Optare
Nottingham bus operator Trent Barton has awarded an £8.1m contract to Blackburn and Leeds bus builder Optare. The company will supply 65 buses over the period of the contract.
The agreement includes the supply of 39 Tempos, 9 Versas and 17 Solos to be delivered over the next three years. The buses will be specifically tailored for Trent Barton individual route applications.
Glenn Saint, Optare's commercial director, said: “Trent Barton are market leaders in the British bus operating scene, their innovative approach to vehicle design and passenger environment often leads to new concepts which are mimicked by others.
“It’s no coincidence that is a multi-award winning organisation. For them to demonstrate their faith in Optare and our products for this long-term deal underlines the considerable standing Optare now has in the market.”
