Cameron 'good for region'

Share | |

David Cameron's government will have a positive impact on the region, a leading property expert has claimed. Graham Cartledge of Benoy, winner of the Special Achievement Award at Insider's East Midlands Property Dinner, made the comments to about 500 fellow professionals last night.

Cartledge, who has recently returned from a trade mission to Asia with David Cameron and Vince Cable, said he is "delighted to represent the East Midlands" when he travels abroad on such business.

A proud son of Newark, he added that he "always makes sure there's a reference" to the town involved when dealing with international trade partners.

"The East Midlands is a great place to do business," said Cartledge. "I think the Cameron government will improve the region – a region which I think is the best in the world."

The dinner, which took place for the tenth year running, was hosted in the East Midlands Conference Centre. Cartledge was praised for changing a rural firm into an internationally-renowned business, behind projects including the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent and Birmingham’s new Bullring.
