Birmingham Business Park work gets go-ahead
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has granted planning consent for further development at Birmingham Business Park. Goodman lodged the application for up to 370,000 sq ft of new industrial or warehouse space at the site.
Birmingham Business Park already offers 1.6 million sq ft of space, with planning permission for an additional 800,000 sq ft of work space.
Goodman believes this will enable the site to copy the success of Hatfield and Gloucester business parks by attracting a wider range of companies.
James Raven, Goodman development director for UK business parks, said: "Birmingham Business Park is established as one of the most successful business locations in the Midlands. In broadening its appeal to a wider range of companies we are accelerating the prospects of further occupation and contributing even further to the region’s economy.
"Delivering business locations which offer a mix of different occupational uses is a model that Goodman has deployed to great effect across a number of sites nationwide.
"We firmly believe that adopting this approach at Birmingham Business Park will enhance the prospects of continued success.”
