Property awards shortlist unveiled

The shortlists for the nine Insider East Midlands Property Awards 2010 have been revealed. Regeneration specialist Bluprint is up for three gongs, and last year’s big winner Wilmott Dixon is hoping to come out on top once again at the tenth annual ceremony.

The biggest players in the region’s property market will fill out the East Midlands Conference Centre tonight to see the nine winners pick up their trophies.

The Commercial Developer of the Year award will be contested by last year’s winner, Cedar House Investments, alongside Miller Birch and Bluprint.

Innes England, Rigby & Co and King Sturge will go up against each other for the Agent of the Year title.

Maber is shortliseted twice for the Design Excellence Award. The company is up for its work on The Roundhouse in Derby and Nottingham High School, and faces Blueprint in the final for its work on Phoenix Square.

Construction Project of the Year will go to either Rok for Nottingham Contemporary, Bowmer & Kirkland for the Roundhouse in Derby or Bowmer & Kirkland for the Newton and Arkwright Building.

Geldards and Freeth Cartwright are both up for Property Law Firm of the Year, and Property Deal of the Year is hotly contested between Savills for Apex Court, Innes England for the Carter and Carter/Derby College Deal, Miller Birch for Speedo, King Sturge for Nottingham City Council/Loxley House.

The Sustainable Development of the Year nominees are Kier Marriott for Twycross Zoo, Derby University Towers and Willmott Dixon for the Goddard Building.

The final award will be a special achievement award.
