Topps Tiles expects revenue increase

Tile and wood flooring specialist Topps Tiles says it expects a 2 per cent increase in turnover to £182.4m for the year period to 2 October 2010. Topps Tiles, which has its head office in Leicester, expects profit to be at least £14.5m.

The pre-close statement said like-for-like revenues from UK stores are expected to show an increase of 1.7 per cent.

It reads: "When restated on a same reporting week basis the total revenues will be broadly flat compared to the prior year.

"Quarter four revenues are expected to have increased by around 3.1 per cent compared to quarter four in 2009, with like-for-like revenues increasing by around 4 per cent.

"The board expects adjusted pre-tax profit for the 53 week period to be within the range of analysts' estimates (of between £14.5m and £17.1m)"

Topps Tiles is currently trading from 313 stores in the UK, having opened 12 during the financial period and closed or relocated eight during the same period.
