Nottingham law firm Berryman has hired three trainees to its entry programme for 2010. All of the new recruits join the firm from Nottingham Law School.

It also announced that it will retain four of its trainees who have qualified this year.

Berryman’s new trainees are Sophie Thring, Gillian Lazonby and Laura Ford. Thring joins the firm’s insurance team, headed by partner Virginia Harvey; Ford joins the commercial litigation team headed by John Frith; and Lazonby joins the employment team, working alongside its new head Hilary Campion.

Four newly qualified solicitors will also remain with the firm. Taking up full-time positions are Michael Gromett, who has qualified into the firm’s commercial IP team; Chris Hawrylak, who has qualified into the construction/commercial property team; and Freya Porteus and David Sauvain, who both qualify into the corporate team.
