Kone elevates into Birmingham
Elevator and escalator manufacture Kone has announced the opening of its Midlands headquarters at the Birmingham Business Park. The firm has appointed Steve Gould to spearhead the growth of the new office which will be home to about 90 sales and service staff.
Kone has worked on several projects in Birmingham including Colmore Plaza, Rutland house, One Snow Hill and Brindleyplace schemes.
The company also confirmed it has secured a new contract at Embassy House in Church Street in the city, to install a new lift together with an ongoing service contract.
The company employs approximately 2,000 staff across 24 offices in the UK.
Andrew Todd, Kone's area director for the Midlands and South, said: “Our goal is to increase our sales portfolio and develop the biggest KONE UK service base here in the West Midlands. Bringing the teams together under one roof has created a one stop local presence and an opportunity to achieve this.
“We have had a number of smaller offices in the region for some time that have developed strong relationships with local players and their work to date is a great platform for us to build on.”
