Three technology companies headquartered in the West Midlands have made it onto the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 list. The league table ranks Britain’s 100 privately-owned technology, media and telecoms (TMT) companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years of available accounts.

Online bookmaker bet365, based in Stoke-on-Trent, entered the list at number 31. The company has grown its annual sales by 62.2 per cent in the past three years. It has a current turnover of £417.6m, and employs more than 1,800 members of staff.

The other West Midlands entries are IT reseller, Probrand, which is based in Birmingham, and Entanet International, headquartered in Telford. The companies reached numbers 60 and 89 respectively.

Scott Dodds, general manager, business strategy and marketing at Microsoft, the title sponsor of the league table, said: "It is great to see privately-owned technology companies in the Midlands making a positive contribution to the technology industry despite tough economic conditions.

“A new trend this year is that more than a fifth of these innovative Tech Track 100 companies are bringing the flexibility and cost savings of cloud computing to big and small businesses.”
