To Helsinki and back with RH Freight
Nottingham’s RH Freight, which operates the UK's largest European road freight network, has expanded to open a new daily service to Helsinki. The new service runs to the port of Travemunde in Northern Germany, before connecting with a daily sailing to the Finnish capital.
Deputy managing director, Andrew Baxter, said that offering the daily service to Finland had been a “long term aim” of the company.
He added: “We have been constantly exploring ways to improve our service in this regard and develop the product offering. The route via Travemunde allows us to offer a special 72-hour express product to Finland to our customers, something which is better than anything else on offer in the marketplace.
“We had to look at many different options and potential routes before we found the solution but now we have it in place it is proving to be extremely successful. At the moment about a third of the groupage that we carry to Finland is being transported on this route.”
RH Freight handles 425,000 shipments per year and operates daily to 32 European hubs.
