Nottingham team completes East Staffs refurb
A project team from Nottingham has completed a leisure scheme development in East Staffordshire. The £3.5m refurbishment of the Meadowside Leisure Centre in Burton-Upon-Trent has been completed by a consultant team comprising Maber architects and building firm Rok.
Project manager and service consultant Edmond Shipway also worked on the project alongside structural engineers at Elliott Wood.
The refurbished centre now includes a new entrance, foyer and café area, fitness centre, new changing facilities, a children’s play area and a multipurpose studio. The existing pools have been transformed with a new ‘village style’ pool changing area and new viewing areas.
Keith Hayday at Maber said: “The centre now takes full advantage of its stunning location by the riverside as well as providing excellent facilities for swimming, sport, fitness and other family activities, to appeal to the local community and beyond. The image for the centre has been successfully transformed and we feel confident that it has a bright future.”
