Wesleyan expands medical board
Birmingham-based Wesleyan Medical Sickness has appointed Professor Steve Field to its Advisory Board. Field, based at the Bellevue Medical Centre in Birmingham, is the tenth medical professional to join the board.
Professor Field is currently chairman of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and a recognised national leader in medical education.
The board offers insight and advice to help Wesleyan tailor its financial products and services more effectively.
Professor Field said: “This a period of great change for general practice; the government White Paper is likely to transform the structure of primary health care and the way in which we work.
“Undoubtedly this will impact upon GPs’ professional and personal finances so it is vital that there is a financial provider out there who really understands what is happening within the profession.
“My role on the board will be to help Wesleyan stay abreast of the key issues in general practice and to understand how they are likely to affect GPs. In this way the Society can use its knowledge and skills to continue delivering tailored products and services to its medical customers.”
