Harris Cooper Walsh and Brownings merge

Law firm Harris Cooper Walsh (HCW), based in Solihull, is widening its horizons once again by merging with Redditch-based law firm Brownings. The firm has now been renamed Harris Cooper Browings.

The link-up means that the re-branded Harris Cooper Brownings now has offices circling the south of Birmingham by stretching from Solihull to Stratford-upon-Avon, Redditch and Alcester as well as to Harborne in Birmingham.

Mike Gahan, managing partner at HCW, said: “Brownings Solicitors fits well into our portfolio of services. It is a family and commercial firm which has served the north Worcestershire area for many years and now we can bolster the existing commercial city expertise to their operation.

“Besides the specialists we have in private law, we have a team of corporate law experts second to none and we will be looking to extend that area of the company’s activities greatly in the north Worcestershire area.”

HCW will be taking on seven fee earners and seven support staff from the Redditch and Alcester offices as the merger goes through.

Gahan said: “Brownings Solicitors has an enviable reputation for good service to the community in the Redditch and Alcester area and I am sure the newly mergered firm can add to that by providing an increasing number of services from city-proficient experts.”
