Trotec identifies acquisition opportunity
Trotec Laser, the Birmingham-based provider of advanced laser technology solutions for marking, cutting and engraving, has acquired Identify Engraving Systems. Ian Bradbeer, managing director of Trotec Laser, said that the acquisition would allow Trotec to further strengthen its position in the UK and European markets.
Stephen Jater, who sold Bristol-based Identify Engraving Systems, will retain an ongoing involvement in the business as director and general manager.
Bradbeer said: “The acquisition of Identify is tremendous for Trotec in the UK, enabling us to further strengthen our position and to expand the sales of our European-built and brand-leading Trotec Laser engraving machines.
"Building on the success of Identify and combining the business with the Suregrave product ranges we recently acquired will enable us to offer a comprehensive and extended range of materials for the benefit of our customers within the engraving industry.”
Trotec Laser is part of the Trodat group. Brabners Chaffe Street represented Trotec, and David Cross of David Cross & Co advised Stephen Jater on the sale.
