Browne Jacobson appointed to legal panel
Midlands law firm Browne Jacobson has been appointed to a newly formed legal panel set up by a consortium of six councils in Oxfordshire. The firm, which has an office in Birmingham, is one of eight which will advise the authorities on a range of legal issues.
The six councils include Cherwell District Council, Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire County Council, South Oxfordshire District Council, Vale of White Horse District Council and West Oxfordshire District Council. The Royal Berkshire Fire Authority is also a member of the consortium.
The panel will also be made available to councils in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
Over the past year, the firm has been appointed to local authority consortiums including London Boroughs Legal Alliance and EM Lawshare. The firm is also a member of ACSeS Southern Councils Consortium and West Yorkshire Legal Panel.
Dominic Swift, head of public sector team at Browne Jacobson, said: “This appointment is a true reflection of our well-established local authority expertise and our excellent track record advising public authorities on the full range of issues they face.
“As public sector budget cuts start to bite joint procurement consortiums such as these will play an increasing part in delivering efficiency savings.”
