Rok, the property repair and maintenance service based in Nottingham, has begun work on a £7.8m development programme at BMI The Park Hospital in Burntstump, Nottingham. The £3.2m construction contract includes an upgrade of The Park Hospital’s third level intensive treatment unit.

The contract is the second major construction deal that Rok has signed this month.

New operating theatres will also be constructed as part of the project.

Rok area director Martin Burton said: “Our personal relationship with the hospital and its owners goes back many years and we’re delighted to be given this repeat business with an important customer.

“We wish the hospital continued success and take pride in helping them create this interesting and high quality facility.”

BMI The Park Hospital is the latest in a series of construction contract wins for Rok. Last week, it was announced the company had signed a £40m deal with Inter Partner Assistance to open a 24-hour call centre in Mansfield.

The new unit is expected to open in Autumn 2011.
