A Dragons' Den success story is hoping to inspire businesses in the East Midlands at an event in Nottingham. Sharon Wright, who walked away from the television programme with £30,000 more than she had asked for, will speak to businesses at the Institute of Directors (IoD) regional networking lunch.

Wright will share her story of entrepreneurship from invention to the Dragons’ Den experience at Trent Bridge Cricket ground on Thursday 16 September.

The inventor appeared on the show with her Magnamole product, which allows cables to be safely threaded between cavity walls.

Wright, who initially asked for £50,000 of investment for a 15 per cent stake in the business was described as having “one of the best pitches the series had ever seen” by dragon Duncan Bannatyne.
