This year’s search for the county’s best business women gets underway on Thursday (9 September) with the launch of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce’s "Enterprising Women’s Excellence Awards".

Hilary Devey, chief executive of palletised freight distributors Pall-EX is the guest speaker at the launch of the awards at Risley Hall Hotel.

The awards aim to recognise and reward the women in business who have excelled in their field of expertise over the last 12 months. The winners will be presented with their awards at a dinner at Chatsworth House on 17 November.

A host of local firms and organisations, including University of Derby Corporate, Accident Aftercare Fleet, Business Link, Rothera Dowson, Coutts and Co, Hullabaloo Visual Communications and Quadrant Visual Solutions Ltd, have been lined up as sponsors.

Jean Mountain, chair of the chamber’s "Enterprising Women" group, said: “There are some very talented and hard-working businesswomen in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire who play a massive part in the success of their business but are often not recognised for their hard work and determination. These awards are all about acknowledging and celebrating those achievements."
