Surge in demand for '60' reg cars
Up to £500,000 worth of new "60" reg cars are set to be collected from a car dealership in Derby this week, say its bosses.
Motorpoint says customers from as far afield as Grimsby are "taking advantage of savings" of more than £6,000 on best-selling models such as the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus to buy themselves a new car.
John Hood, general manager, said: “The level of interest in 60-reg cars has been huge, coinciding with the arrival of exciting new shape models such as the Renault Megane and Vauxhall Astra. Our customers clearly recognise a good deal when they see one and are happy to travel great distances in order to avoid missing out on a bargain.”
The UK’s new number plates were revealed earlier this week, replacing the "10" registration plates which were placed on cars in the first half of 2010.
