JS Wright wins hotel servicing contract

Birmingham-based building services provider JS Wright has won a £400,000 contract to provide the mechanical services for a hotel scheme in the city’s Jewellery Quarter. The 73-bed, four-storey hotel is being constructed on the site of the former Ashfield Motors garage.

The Aston-based company will design and install the latest energy saving heating and ventilation systems for the new Bloc Hotel to be built in Caroline Street.

Construction companies JR Pickstock and Elements Europe, part of the Oswestry-based Pickstock Group, are also involved in the project.

The hotel is being constructed using sustainable construction materials and techniques, and the property is scheduled to open in early 2011.

Marcus Aniol, JS Wright managing director, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract for such an exciting new hotel concept that is likely to become a blueprint for sustainable development.”

JS Wright will be fitting the gas pipe work, hot and cold water services, specialist air conditioning and drainage and sanitary installations as part of the six-month project.

The company will also be plumbing all the bedrooms on a pod-by-pod basis before being assembled, enabling work on site to be completed in just weeks. The upscale rooms will include quality Italian paneling and Swedish carpeting.
