Baker Firkins opens new stores
A Black Country and Birmingham baker has opened its third outlet in four months. Firkins, which was rescued from administration twice in the past, has opened its latest store in Northfield creating ten full and part-time jobs.
The baker also opened outlets in Dudley and Harborne this year, between them creating six jobs.
The latest opening, in the Northfield Shopping Centre, is part of a wider expansion plan through which more shops will open during the year, according to the baker.
Sarah Bolderston, head of retail at Firkins, said: “We are delighted to open a brand new Firkins shop in Northfield and have been blown away by the support from the local community.
"We are a local Black Country and Birmingham baker so it is really important to us that we continue to create jobs for local people and open local shops.”
Firkins was rescued from administration in April 2006 and was dealt a second blow in November 2008, when it entered administration again.
