Mills & Reeve, the Birmingham-based law firm, has been appointed to the legal panel of the London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC). The agreement is thought to be worth £30m over a three-year period.

The agreement, which is one of the largest of its kind in the public sector, will cover eight specialist lots including employment, commercial, education and student matters and medical. The firm has also been appointed to a ninth "one stop shop" lot for members who want a single firm to provide all their legal service requirements.

Mills & Reeve is the only one of 13 successful firms to have been appointed to provide legal advice across all nine lots.

Guy Hinchley, managing partner at Mills & Reeve, said: “We are delighted to have been formally appointed to the LUPC’s panel and moreover to have the opportunity to provide legal counsel across all of the lots.

"We believe that our experience in providing services to each of the specialist sectors in which the LUPC members operate means that we are well positioned to provide strategic legal advice and to help members stay on top of the very wide range of legal issues facing them in an increasingly complex environment.”
