Carillion wins £200m contract add-on
Carillion, the Wolverhampton-based service support service company, has been awarded a £200m contract extension with EDF Energy Newtworks. The add-on contract will be worth £40m per year over a five year period.
The company’s existing four-year contracts with EDF Energy Networks, which began in 2007, are being extended for a further five years from January 2011. Under these contract extensions, Carillion will deliver infrastructure services for sub-stations and cabling to support the electricity network in the east of England.
John McDonough, chief executive of Carillion, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this major extension to our contracts with EDF Energy Networks. This reflects the strong relationship we have built with EDF Energy Networks through our ability to work closely with our customers to understand their business needs and to develop services specifically tailored to meet those needs."
Carillion has an annual revenue of £5bn and employs about 50,000 worldwide. The business operates across the UK, in the Middle East, Canada and the Caribbean.
