Profits up for Delcam

Share | |

Delcam, the software supplier based in Birmingham, has reported an increase in sales to £18.1m - a 12 per cent rise on the comparable 2009 period. The company’s chairman Peter Miles said the sales results produced “a record high” for a six-month period.

In its results for the six months to 30 June 2010, Delcam also revealed that pre-tax tax profit had risen to £1.1m, up from £300,000 in the same period in 2009.

The company said that predictable, recurring income, which was derived from software maintenance and support contracts, rose to £6.3m and now accounts for 35 per cent of total sales. In 2009, the figure stood at £5.8m.

Miles said: "I am pleased to report a strong recovery in Delcam's sales and profits in the first half of the current financial year. Sales stand at a record high for a six-month period and pre-tax profits are substantially higher than the same period last year.

“These encouraging results reflect recovery across all our major territories globally and were supported by our decision to maintain investment in product development and marketing during the downturn in order to gain commercial advantage.”
