Grant Thornton advises on £200m deal

The Birmingham office of Grant Thornton has advised a global consultancy firm on its acquisition by AECOM. The accountancy firm provided Davis Langdon with support throughout the deal, valued at approximately £207m.

Davis Langdon, which employs about 2,800 people worldwide, operates from 75 offices around the world including one in Birmingham.

The company has worked on projects such as the Tate Modern and Eden Project in the UK;, Abu Dhabi International Airport and the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town.

Rob Smith, senior partner at Davis Langdon, said: “We believe the acquisition by AECOM will enable Davis Langdon to enrich the services we provide to our clients, giving us access to a deeper and broader pool of knowledge and expertise than would otherwise be possible.”

In 2009, the company generated a gross turnover of approximately £275m.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in October.
