Jobs saved in Catalis buyout
Catalis, the Derby-based rail training provider, has been bought out of administration by TQ, the training provider based in Lockington.
The sale of the business, details of which were undisclosed, has saved ten jobs at Catalis.
TQ’s chief executive officer Vic Keyworth described the purchase as “a strategic acquisition that fits perfectly in our business”.
The Catalis arm of the business will continue to operate from its two strategic bases at the Derby Conference Centre and at Clapham junction, and will expand its services to other parts of the UK.
Craig King, formerly technical director at Catalis, has been appointed managing director of the company.
Colin Walton, chairman of the Derby and Derbyshire Rail Forum, said: "We welcome that Catalis will continue to provide training services in the city. Derby and Derbyshire have the world's largest cluster of railway-related companies in the world and Catalis provides essential services to not only this cluster but to other companies from around the UK and the world."
Leicester–based law firm Spearing Waite assisted and advised administrators Simon Chandler and Scott Bevan, of Mazars.
