Wednesbury Hub sold
Birmingham-based real estate adviser DTZ has secured the sale of a large distribution site to a private investor. It was acting on behalf of courier service City Link.
The Wednesbury Hub compromises 153,481 sq ft of distribution warehouse space, offices, vehicle maintenance unit, workshop and a store, on two sites adjacent to the Black Country Route.
It is thought to be the largest existing cross-docked distribution site in the West Midlands.
The Hub has been acquired by a private investor of Eagleton & Co, having previously been used by City Link, a subsidiary of Rentokil Initial, as a distribution facility. It came on to the market after the company consolidated its national operation into its premises in Coventry.
John Sambrooks, associate director in DTZ’s Industrial and Logistics team, said: “As one of the largest facilities of its kind in the West Midlands, the Hub was a unique opportunity and generated a lot of interest from both occupiers and investors.”
Camberley-based City Link has not disclosed the fee of the deal.
